Join the Reimagining Laboratory and Theodore Richards in a free monthly symposium held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM Eastern starting in November.
Each gathering welcomes a new thought leader, organization, or community into a live conversation about how we might reimagine ourselves, our shared stories, and the systems that shape our lives.
When familiar stories and institutions no longer help us understand who we are or where we belong, uncertainty can feel like the end of the world. The Reimagining Laboratory approaches this moment as an unveiling and an invitation. Together, we will explore the forces reshaping our world, encounter people and communities already creating alternatives, and imagine new ways of living rooted in meaning, connection, justice, and care.
What is the Reimagining Laboratory?
The Reimagining Laboratory is a monthly symposium exploring the unraveling of dominant cultural stories and the possibilities emerging in their place. Each gathering creates space for honest inquiry, creative imagination, and meaningful dialogue about the personal, spiritual, cultural, and systemic changes unfolding around us.
What happens each month?
A different thought leader, organization, or community will join us to share how they are engaging these questions through their work and lived experience. The gathering will include conversation, reflection, and opportunities for participants to consider how these ideas might be embodied in their own lives and communities.
Come to discover new perspectives, meet others engaged in transformative work, and become part of a growing network of people reimagining the stories, values, relationships, and systems that shape our world.

About Theodore Richards
Theodore Richards is an educator, writer, and philosopher. He is the founder of The Chicago Wisdom Project and editor of the online magazine and podcast ReImagining. His work is dedicated to re-imagining education and creating new narratives about our place in the world. He has received degrees from various institutions, including the University of Chicago and The California Institute of Integral Studies, but has learned just as much studying the martial art of Bagua; teaching in various settings and students; and as a traveler from the Far East to the Middle East, from southern Africa to the South Pacific. He is the author of eight books and numerous literary awards, including two Nautilus Book Awards and three Independent Publisher Awards. His latest book, Reimagining the Classroom, is now available. He lives on the south side of Chicago with his wife and three daughters.
